SUBSTANCE IN A CUSHION, JACQUELINE SULLIVAN GALLERY

For the debut show at Jacqueline Sullivan Gallery, I was invited to design ten unique pieces in conversation with Gertrude Steins 1915 poem “Substance in a cushion”.

Steins words feel to me like layered textures; warm, contrasting with a grit that caresses. The resulting pieces were a translation of these feelings and considerations expressed as tactile objects to be lived with.

These pieces are shown and sold at Jacqueline Sullivan Gallery, New York.
