VAGUE TERRAIN I
From a selection of works shown at Jacqueline Sullivan Gallery as part of the show “A Room Is an Archive of Touch”.
Vague Terrain I serves as a contemplative consideration into the way in which the repetitive process of enmeshing two seemingly disparate materials into one can yield a new landscape. The eggshell-hued silk is simultaneously delicate while also entangled into a compelling language that distorts and disintegrates into the linen. With its borders vague, the work creates the perception of that which is revealed rather than placed.
Silk, antique French linen sheet
W 170cm x H 225 cm
